17U Boys’ Season Recap

2019 was the 2nd year that Maine Juniors fielded a boys’ volleyball team.  The team was a great blend of cagey veterans of over a year and some brand new players.  The range of places that the players come from is yet another indication that boys’ volleyball is coming to Maine; having players come from Kennebunk, Biddeford, Lewiston/Auburn, Portland, Yarmouth, Windham, and Saco further indicated the growing interest in the sport.

Our 17 Boys team was always interesting to watch in practice and in their three NERVA competitions, largely because of the five-year age difference in the team members which, according to Coach Larry Nichols, was a real treat to be a part of.   Coach Nichols also could not be more proud of how well the older players interacted with the younger members to help really bring the team together.
