Coaching Staff

My Name: Megan Gettings

Team: 18 Gold (Assistant Coach)

Certifications:

4 years of GMS summer camps.

Coaching Experience:

I have been coaching volleyball summer camps in Connecticut and at USM for four years.

Playing Experience:

I have been playing volleyball since I was in 6th grade. In high school I started out being a setter and transitioned into an outside hitter which is the position I play currently. In high school my team and I won states my freshman year and made it to the finals and semifinals the following three years. I started playing club volleyball in 8th grade until senior year, where I played for Connecticut Huskies. I play in a beach league every summer, past years in Connecticut and this year in Maine. I have been playing collegiate volleyball at the University of Southern Maine for the past three years.

Coaches Outlook:

To start by having my team make individual and team goals and helping them complete their goals by the end of the season.

Why I Love Coaching:

I love giving back to the community, and I feel like coaching is my way of giving back to the sport I love. I also love watching people grow and fall in love with the sport like I did.

My Day Job:

Nursing student at the University of Southern Maine.

Hometown:

Bristol, Connecticut

Favorite Food:

Guacamole, or anything with cheese!

Other Info To Share:

I am always happy to answer any questions or help anyone with anything they need whether it be advice with volleyball, school, college etc.
