I started the Cape Elizabeth HS Volleyball program in 2006 and was the Varsity head coach there until 2013. I have also coached for the Maine Juniors Club at the 18 Gold, 16 National, 16 Gold, 15 National, and 14 Gold levels. I have also coached various adult and school age volleyball clinics. Currently I am an assistant volleyball coach for Bates College.
I played Lacrosse for the University of New England in my college days and then switched over to volleyball soon after. I have been playing in adult leagues for over 20 years and have travelled out of state to play in various tournaments.
I’m quite pleased to be returning to coach for another season at Maine Juniors! As volleyball continues to grow in the state, the Maine Juniors teams are in a unique position to receive first rate instruction that will solidify their existing skills. I feel blessed to be able to coach some of the best players in the state. This season our team will continue our tradition of dedication and hard work to assist us with our challenging schedule. We will be using Gold Medal Squared fundamentals as well as some new tricks I’ve learned coaching at the college level. I can already tell…this will be a fun and successful season!
Why I Love Coaching:
I believe it is the coaches’ responsibility to assist in the development of young adults by focusing on skill, sportsmanship, relationships, and the value of teamwork, without sacrificing fun. Additionally, to inspire each player to develop the confidence to maximize their potential, value the team, and love the game.
My Day Job:
Anything that doesn’t bite back…I am a big time “foodie.” I love anything from Pâté Foie Gras to greasy cheeseburgers…yummy! Oh, I am also a chocolate and Twizzler hound.
