My Name: Mariah Garcia
Team: 18 Silver
Impact Training and CPR/First Aid certified.
Just finished coaching the lovely Gorham Middle School girls. I have worked several volleyball camps.
Although I do not have an extensive coaching history, I am excited to have the opportunity to share my knowledge as well as learn and grow from this season.
I played four years at Central High School, 3 years as a varsity player. I played for Mesa Juniors Club team for 3 years. In college I played at the University of Southern Maine as a DS/Libero for four years. I continue to play in pick-up leagues, MSBVA tournaments, and in a summer outdoor beach volleyball league.
My coaching philosophy consists of growth on and off the court for not only my players but for myself. Volleyball has taught me that in order to grow you must make mistakes. Mistakes are proof that you are trying. Each volleyball season is another chance to make new mistakes and continue to grow. I am excited to be apart of your journeys!
Why I Love Coaching:
Not only has volleyball been a passion of mine but it has taught me many important life lessons. I wouldn’t have had such an amazing experience if it wasn’t for some really influential coaches in my life. I want to be able to give back to the sport that has helped me in so many ways.
My Day Job:
I currently am working as a Case Manager at Preble Street.
I was born and raised in a small town on the western slope in Colorado.
I love all food. I am a big dessert and breakfast kinda gal.
Other Info To Share:
I will be going back to school in January in pursuit of my Masters in Occupational Therapy! Wish me luck.
