My Name: Aleta Schmidt
This is my second season coaching for Maine Juniors North East teams. I have also been the head coach for 3 seasons of both JV and Varsity volleyball at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill.
I have played club volleyball since I was in fifth grade. I played 4 years for NH Seascoast and 4 years for Great Bay volleyball. I set for my high school volleyball team at Nute High School, in Milton, NH, where our team won 3 consecutive championships my sophomore-junior year. I continued setting for 4 years at Husson University.
I am so excited to coach a 16’s team for the North East this year. We are going to focus on being aggressive offensively and defensively while using the Gold Medal Squared principles to guide us fundamentally.
Why I Love Coaching:
I love coaching because it is so rewarding to watch the players learn, grow and implement things I have taught them into their game. My favorite feeling is when a player does something well, and turns to me saying “Did you just see that?”
My Day Job:
I work as an occupational therapist for the school district in Bucksport, ME.
I grew up in Milton, NH.
Pizza. I could eat pizza all day, every day, in any form. My favorite is anything with fresh mozzarella.
