NERVA Changes for 2019

With three NERVA tournaments still to go, we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of some changes that NERVA implemented this season, which we will summarize here.

As a reminder, you should NEVER contact NERVA directly. If you have questions about these changes or anything else related to a NERVA tournament, please contact your coach.

SportWrench
We have already shared that NERVA will be utilizing SportWrench to schedule each tournament and track results. The schedule for NERVA III has been posted to SportWrench and results will be available there as well, following tournament play.  The same will be true for NERVAs IV and V.

Warm Up Time
The first two rounds of pool play warm up have been extended to 1-4-4 (1 minute shared, 4 minutes for each team to have the full court alone). All rounds after the first two will be 1-3-3 (1 minute shared, 3 minutes for each team to have the full court alone).

Open
NERVA has reverted to the pre-2015 system where all Open-level spots will be filled for each NERVA tournament. This means that all tournaments will be filled to 8, 12 or 16 team capacity unless a team is a last minute no show. Movement from one NERVA to the next will be based on the tournament average, not a two up/two down rule as was previously followed.

Playoffs
All club-level tournaments (AAA-C) will run Consolation and Championship brackets, and will play for all places. All playoff games will be one set to 25 points. This means after a semi-final has been played, there will be a one-set match between the teams losing in the semi-finals to determine 3rd and 7th place.
